STEELE ROSE COMMUNICATIONS
2004 SILVER SABRE AWARD FINALIST

-- Exceptional Client Work Recognized in Household Product Category --

White Plains, NY – May 13, 2004 – Steele Rose Communications (www.steelerosecomm.com), an internationally recognized, award-winning public agency, was recognized as a coveted 2004 Silver SABRE Award finalist for their “SARS Crisis Response Team for Lysol” campaign. The programs honored represent the best work of the public relations industry during the year 2003.

“To be judged by professionals among entries from agencies worldwide as top work in public relations is a great compliment, especially considering the hundreds of other fine agencies, corporations and non-profit organizations eligible for the awards,” said Karen Barnett, President, Steele Rose Communications. “We are honored to be honored as a finalist in such a prestigious competition.”

The SABRE Awards are presented for Superior Achievement in Branding and Reputation and are given for public relations, reputation management and brand building campaigns that exemplify a strategic approach in research and planning, breakthrough thinking, integrity and effectiveness. Silver SABREs recognize the best programs in specific industries, from agribusiness to travel and tourism. These programs can have either reputation (corporate communications) or branding (product publicity) objectives.

“The Steele Rose Communications SARS Crisis Response Team for Lysol counseled Lysol and their advertising and trade public relations agencies against promoting claims about Lysol’s ability to kill SARS-like viruses which subsequently enabled the parent company of Lysol, Reckitt Benckiser, to NOT suffer any repercussions for being exploitive or opportunistic during a worldwide health crisis,” said Karen Barnett, President, Steele Rose Communications.

The awards recognize public relations, reputation management, and brand building campaigns that exemplify the following values: a strategic approach to public relations, as indicated in the research and planning stage of the campaign; breakthrough thinking, as indicated by the ability to come up with innovative and ingenious solutions to communications challenges, integrity, as indicated by a program that adheres to the highest ethical standards and effectiveness, as indicated by results that match the objectives of the program, and demonstrate how the program helped an organization achieve both its communications and business goals.
The awards are judged by some of the most senior public relations professionals in the industry including principals of top boutique firms, senior corporate communications professionals, and senior executives from major agencies. The chairman of the judges is The Holmes Group president and CEO Paul Holmes, who served for 10 years as the chairman of the judges for the Creativity in Public Relations Awards.
